Meet Barney

Introduction

Hi! My name is Barney and I am the School Chaplain at The Castle School. I grew up in Taunton but moved away to New Zealand for a while after school. Since coming back home, I've loved living here again and I'm so grateful for the community in this town.

What made you want to take the role?

‍

I’m really passionate about working with young people. I've been fortunate enough to have had opportunities of working alongside teenagers in numerous  settings. Therefore I've seen first hand the positive impact of having a trusted pastoral figure to support young people.  I'm so excited about this new chapter at Castle with the opportunity to engage with its young people as I demonstrate my faith in Jesus.

What do you enjoy most?

‍

I'm going to really enjoy getting to know different students, finding out about them and their interests. I'm looking forward to building up relationships over time and eventually chatting together about the important things in life. I love that I'll get to encourage and champion them, building them up when they need it most. And l love that I'll get to be myself within the school community and be able to model my faith to the people around me.
