Our Vision
At Taunton Youth for Christ, our mission is to see every young person in our community experience the love of God, discover their true value, and build a relationship with Jesus. We are committed to transforming lives through authentic relationships, practical support, and the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. We are passionate about reaching young people where they are - in schools, on the streets and within our community.
Many of the young people we work with face complex challenges, including poverty, mental health struggles, trauma and broken relationships. We seek to be a consistent, trusted presence in their lives, offering hope, purpose, and a safe place to belong. Our mission is lived out through mentoring, schools work and community outreach, with a strong emphasis on relational safety and trust. Everything we do is grounded in the belief that every young person matters, and that with the right support and encouragement, they can overcome barriers and build a brighter future.
What is Youth For Christ?
Youth for Christ is an international Christian charity with a long history of supporting young people. Founded in 1944, Youth for Christ has a presence in over 100 countries, including the UK, where we have been active for decades. Our mission is to reach out to young people, offering them guidance, mentorship, and opportunities to grow in a safe and nurturing environment. At Taunton Youth for Christ, we are part of this global movement, dedicated to making a positive impact in our local community by providing support and fostering positive relationships among young people.

Our goal is to serve the community with genuine care, helping young people to thrive and reach their full potential, always with an emphasis on safety, understanding, and support.

We believe that transformation happens through relationship—and volunteers are right at the heart of that mission. Whether it’s turning up week after week to support a young person, helping run a youth session, offering practical support behind the scenes, or simply being a consistent, trusted adult — your presence could be the turning point in a young life.
We’re looking for passionate, dependable people who want to make a real difference. You don’t need to have all the answers, just a willing heart, a listening ear, and a desire to see young peoples lives changed by Jesus.

We are looking for an energetic and collaborative individual with a pioneering spirit to work with young people in Taunton. Employed as a member of Taunton Youth for Christ, your time will be split equally between establishing youth ministry within Oakwood Church and continuing the vision for Taunton Youth for Christ.
